Article 4 - Charter Membership
The members who shall join in the incorporation of this association shall be known as charter members.
- General Membership
Section 1- General membership shall consist of the active membership plus members that have been retired by their respective city or town fire departments.
Active members shall consist of persons who perform and/or supervise the duty of maintenance to fire apparatus and fire fighting equipment in cities and towns, and/or officers of said fire departments.
Each member shall have one (1) vote.
Section 2- Retired Active Membership
A retired active member is one who is now retired but still attends at least three (3) monthly meetings. This member shall continue to have a voting right as long as they are in good standing with the association.
Retired members who do not regularly attend the monthly meetings shall not have a voting right.
Retired members shall pay no dues.
Anyone not directly connected with fire apparatus maintenance such as fire department mechanics, master mechanics, supervisors of fire apparatus etc., but who is in the business of selling and or repairing fire apparatus, ambulances, rescue units and the tools and equipment needed to operate such in the fire/rescue service, may become a “Corporate Member” of the New England Fire Apparatus Maintenance Association by paying the necessary dues with the application form. This membership will continue on a yearly basis, subject to the necessary dues being paid in full annually.
The annual fee for Corporate Membership is $100.00. Annual dues are due on or before the March meeting. A Corporate Membership is entitled to have up to four persons to be listed as a member of the association.
Corporate Members will be entitled to all privileges of the association including voting but they cannot hold an office of the association. At no time can they use the N.E.F.A.M.A. name for business endorsements without the consent, by vote, of the Association.
If a company seeks more Corporate Memberships for the corporation, additional memberships can be applied for with a dues fee of Thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per application applied for.
